Member Onboarding

Welcome to the Margo Project! This is a collaborative and innovative environment where creativity and teamwork flourish. As you begin your journey with the Margo Project, we have outlined a clear set of steps to help with your onboarding process and to ensure smooth collaboration on our projects.

Step 1: Resource Access and Setup

To access Margo's project management tools, collaboration platforms, and communication channels, please use this Registration form to register your details. Unsure if your employer is a member? - Click here

Once you register, you will be added to the Margo Technical Working Group and given access to the GitHub repository.

  • Don't have a GitHub Account - Click here to create one
  • If you require some 1:1 GitHub training, drop your PM an email - Click to schedule some training
  • Join the Margo Discord Community - Click here
  • Margo Discord Rules and Community Guidelines: - NOTE: You are required to familiarize yourself with the rules below before you participate! The rules apply whether you read them or not..
    • Respect and follow Discord's Terms of Service and Community Guidelines.

    • Respect people. Do not attack, discriminate against, or intentionally offend members.

    • Absolutely no NSFS context allowed. We want to keep safe for work and minors.

    • Do not post dangerous commands, links, file uploads, or media, including obscured or just potentially harmful content, even as "jokes".

    • Do not post personal information or photos without the consent of everyone involved. No doxxing. Do not post any confidential information.

    • Do not intentionally annoy or troll people. Be genuine and nice, and avoid disrupting chat.

    • Do not send members unsolicited DMs/private messages without their consent.

    • Do not post sensitive topics that could result in heated discussions. Always be respectful and civil to members.

    • Use appropriate channels. Prefer topic-specific channels over general ones whenever possible.

    • No offensive names and profile pictures. You will be asked to change your name or picture if it is deemed inappropriate.

    Margo Mailing Lists

    We maintain several email distribution lists, which can be accessed online at lists.margo.org. Public lists are open to anyone however member-restricted lists require approval. Please note that Margo's Code of Conduct applies to all community spaces.

    The Individual Dashboard (also known as My Profile) is a self-service hub for all of your open-source activity.
