Margo Plugfest Rules of Engagement

As part of the registration process and participation requirements, all participants must accept the Margo Plugfest Rules of Engagement.

Rules of Engagement

The MARGO project is pleased to present the MARGO PlugFest (the “PlugFest”). This represents an opportunity for participating suppliers within the MARGO ecosystem (each a “Participant”) to try out their products in a controlled environment and to receive feedback with respect to the interoperability of those products within a MARGO environment.

To encourage participation in the PlugFest, we have created these Rules of Engagement. As a requirement to participate in the PlugFest, all Participants (and their employees and independent contractors) must comply with these Rules of Engagement. Participation in the PlugFest means agreement to these Rules of Engagement.

The PlugFest is not a certification process, and Participants will not be able to say that their hardware is “MARGO Compliant” following the PlugFest. Instead, Participants should expect to receive interoperability data with respect to their products.

Participants may gain insights into the performance or features of other products during the PlugFest. If you are uncomfortable with this possibility, we recommend not participating.

The PlugFest will be hosted at a third-party facility (the “Test Lab”) on behalf of MARGO. Neither MARGO nor the Test Lab will have any liability to any Participant or any third party arising from or related to the PlugFest including, without limitation, any publication of PlugFest performance and/or interoperability data.

PlugFest results will be distributed to participants for review prior to official publication. Participating organizations may request that their company names and prototype identifiers be pseudonymized in any published materials. All communications regarding PlugFest outcomes—whether by the MARGO Project or by participants—should focus on promoting overall enhancements to the MARGO specification, rather than ranking or singling out specific companies or products. Beginning at the start of the PlugFest and continuing for sixty (60) calendar days following its conclusion, or until the official PlugFest report is published (whichever occurs first), participants are prohibited from publicly disclosing any PlugFest results.

Only the final, official report issued by MARGO should be publicly quoted or reproduced. Participants are strongly advised to refrain from sharing anecdotal information that cannot be substantiated by the official report.

Furthermore, participants hereby acknowledge and agree that, under no circumstances, shall the results derived from the PlugFest be utilized for comparative marketing purposes.

We reserve the right to terminate any Participant’s continued participation in the PlugFest or to refuse access to any future PlugFest to any Participant that has failed to comply with these Rules of Engagement.
